Regulatory compliance in educational institutions
Abstract
Over the last 15 years, the management of the risk of non-compliance has become a particularly important issue in financial life. The aim of the research was to identify similar problems in public education. One of the hypotheses of the research was that the compliance of directors and employees with the rules of their work is significantly influenced by their knowledge of the rules. In January and February of 2019, 242 heads of public education institutions completed an online questionnaire on compliance with rules, which was processed using statistical tools. Compliance with legal requirements can be identified as an independent management task with many difficulties. In this analysis, two current problems have been identified in terms of compliance and responsible management: labor shortages and a rapidly changing legal environment in which heads of public education institutions need support even at the level of interpretation of legislation.
